Scouting for Food

Our participation in The Scouting for Food drive starts on Wednesday, February 1st, at 6:45pm.  For those who don't know what this is, let me explain.  As scouts, we will be delivering flyer's to the homes in our neighborhoods asking them to donate food to our local food banks.  Each home in our area will receive a flyer.  On the morning of Saturday, February 4th, we will meet again to drive through our neighborhoods to collect the food that our neighbors are donating.  The food will then be delivered to our stake center.  From there the food will go to our local food banks so that it can be used to help those who are in need.  Please keep in mind that we are representing the Boy Scouts of America, and as such we need to be in our Boy Scout UNIFORMS.  By participating in this food drive we are fulfilling part of our oath, which is "to help other people at all times."  Please keep the people that we are serving in mind as we participate in this service.

Travel Bug

This is just to let you know that our travel bug was picked up from the geocache yesterday, shortly after we dropped it off.  Its journey has begun.

Permission Slips

Permission slips for the blog went out on Wednesday, January 18.  This is just a reminder that they need to be turned in.  If parents have any questions about this, please let me know and I would be happy answer them.

McDowell Mountain Campout Update

I apoligize for being unable to give you a departure time for our campout any sooner than this, but here we go.  You will not want to miss this campout.  Please arrive at the chapel tomorrow evening at 4:30pm.  Make sure you remember your assignments for food and morning/firesides.  As always if you have any questions please call me, and if I don't answer make sure to leave a message.  You can also contact Bro Moore with questions.  Thanks and see you there.

Camping and Geocaching

We are camping this weekend.  We will discuss the campout at scouts tomorrow evening (starting at 6:45pm), as well as starting the geocaching merit badge.  Make sure that you are there so that we can get all of our assignments out for this weekend.  This campout will include fire starting and geocache hunting so make sure that you don't miss it!  As always, call me with any questions.

This is just a reminder about the Stake Merit Badge clinic.  Meet at Williamsfield High track at 8am so you can do your fitness test.  If you have any questions please let me know.

Court of Honor

This is just an update concerning our January Court of Honor.  The date has been moved to January 29th.  It will be held at 7pm in the Relief Society Room.  Please come dressed in your uniforms!

2012 Annual Planning Meeting

On Wednesday night we will be meeting at the church to plan for the upcoming year.  It is essential that you come to this so that you can all have a say in what activities we will be doing for 2012.  ESSENTIAL!  See you there.
