If you are new to troop 819, then you've come to the right place. Here you will find a list of things that you need to participate with our troop.
A. For starters you will need to have a current health form filled out. Here is the link for it. You will need to fill out parts A and B. This form needs to be completed on an annual basis. Part C will need to be completed yearly before we participate in our week long scout camp. If you need the link to the immunization exemption form, click here.
B. We encourage all scouts to wear full uniform. What that currently entails for our troop is a scout shirt, scout belt, and scout pants. If you would like to wear scout shorts you will also need scout socks.
C. You will need a Scout Handbook. This will be used as a reference for scouting skills as well as a book to keep your records in.
D. Camping gear, including a pack that you can hike with. For more specific details please see one of your leaders. Always remember this, don't pack more than 1/3rd of your weight. You can anticipate that you will be using this equipment nearly every month.
E. If you are coming from another troop please get your scout records to us as soon as possible. We cannot help you advance if we don't know what you are in need of.
F. We like to post pictures from some of our events on this blog. In order to be able to do this we need a permission form filled out and returned to one of the scout leaders. Please download the form from here and give it to one of the leaders.
G. As always, if you have any questions please ask. Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 819!
The purpose of this blog is to provide the young men of Boy Scout Troop 819, and their parents or guardians, with a simple way of obtaining information relating to the comings and goings of our troop.
"Scouting brings out the best in each of us. Live what you've learned and will continue to learn. Help others to hike the trails, to keep steadfast in the paths of truth, of honor, of duty, that all of you can soar together on eagles' wings. You are part of a mighty army of youth, even a royal army, and every organization, to be successful, has an honored tradition to uphold. May you uphold Scouting's tradition, for it can be as a lighthouse beacon in the world of stormy seas, it can be a motivation to prepare for your role in life, it can be a yardstick against which you measure your accomplishments." ~President Thomas S. Monson--2010
